Paper Helicopter Tips
Assembly
If you have access to thicker paper, that is highly recommended, as it makes the wings more rigid. If you're using copy paper, that will work too, but you may need to make a slight fold in the center of the blade to make it more rigid and less prone to bending up, and allowing your machine to lose altitude too fast.
Cut your helicopter out carefully. For best results, cut just outside the printed line, or right on the line. Cut down the middle of the blades, and fold the blade in opposite directions from one another.
The weight of the helicopter is important. The model that requires paper clips allows you to experiment with different weights. Try and compare using one paperclip, two paperclips, even try a binder clip! Which one works best?
Flying Your Paper Helicopter
You helicopter will work if you just throw it up in the air, but for best results drop it from a high location.
Try flying it down a stairwell, or similar high spot. If in a windy location, you may be able to take advantage of updrafts that can take your flyer up above you!
Send in photos of you flying your machines! The best ones may just appear on my site!
Have fun flying!
